Bye-bye 2005...
Bye-bye 2005! It's 1st January 2006... A brand new year for everyone. *smilez*

The past 365 days have been challenging, filled with lots of tears, angst, worry, disappointment and many other negativity. But at the same time, there had been moments of joy, pride, happiness, peace, and all the good feelings one can have. As a person, I'm sure that all of us have grown with experiences. As for me, at this time of the year, it's not just a time to reflect on the past 365 days, but also to reflect on my life's journey so far.

I am in a family filled with many complications and problems. Life was much better when I was younger with a complete family. As I was in my teens, things turned sour. My parents divorced and suddenly, there was no mother to take care of home. I had to take on that role, as well as, try to do well in my studies. But, I didn't do well. From As and Bs, I flunked my subjects, getting Fs. I had no home support and I didn't open up to my teachers. But I managed to pull through because I didn't want to disappoint my dad.

I worked part-time to support my tertiary education and myself. After that, I worked to support my family. Many a times I felt life was unfair. I wasn't the eldest in the family, but why was the burden on me? Why am I scrimping on my hard-earned money when my other siblings, who worked, can spend their money as and when they please? The answer I gave myself was this.. I am a part of this family, I love them and I just want them to be happy. Whatever shit they make me go through, I'll just have to take it in my stride.

It's been a rough journey this year, with family, friends and work. There were many many nights when I cried myself to sleep and wished that I would not wake up the next morning. There were many times when I just wished poeple would be more appreciative. But I knew, if i had hung on to those times, I would get no where and become more miserable.

Nobody said that life would be fair. Nobody said that life would be all sunshine and pretty. It's what we wish and hope it would be. It's not impossible for life to be that way, though, but we need to work real hard towards it. This brings me to my new signature 'An endless story'.. That's what life is all about.. It is an endless story, written by each individual. It's really up to us to make our own decisions and choices.*smilez*

So to my dearest family and friends, Have a great meaningful 2006! Fill it with as many beautiful memories as you can, it's what you deserve and owe to yourselves. Cheers! *winkz*
